چکیده
This work deals with the investigation of tribological performance DC magnetron sputtered W-S-N coatings under vacuum atmosphere, as part exploration multi-environment sliding properties solid lubricants. study is systematic testing lubricants in different environments, especially vacuum, which often ignored. The trend to test dry N2 by considering it replacement environment testing. approach not appropriate. In this work, a set was synthesized N-alloying content range 0–25.5 at.%. A maximum S/W ratio 1.47 observed for pure WSx coating. hardness 8.0 GPa 23 at.% N-alloying. coating lowest N (14.6 at.%) displayed friction, specific wear rate and scar depth conditions. Despite superior at room temperature (35% humidity), 200 °C nitrogen conditions, WSN12.5 deteriorated environment.

Low-temperature growth of boron carbide coatings by direct current magnetron sputtering and high-power impulse magnetron sputtering
access at Springerlink.com ABSTRACT B4C coatings for B-based neutron detector applications were deposited using high-power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) and direct current magnetron sputtering (DCMS) processes. The coatings were deposited on Si(001) as well as on flat and macrostructured (grooved) Al blades in an industrial coating unit using B4C compound targets in Ar. The HiPIMS and D...
متن کاملThe tribological properties of Cu-Ni3Al-MoS2 composite coating deposited by magnetron sputtering
In industrial applications, most materials are exposed to wear and friction because multiple conditions are used. However, the tribological properties of these materials can be improved with different techniques. One such technique that improves the frictional property of a surface is the use of self-lubricating coatings. In this study, multicomponent coatings of nominal composition Cu-Ni3Al-Mo...

متن کاملSilicon Nitride Based Coatings Grown by Reactive Magnetron Sputtering
Silicon nitride and silicon nitride-based ceramics have several favorable material properties, such as high hardness and good wear resistance, which makes them important materials for the coating industry. This thesis focuses the synthesis of silicon nitride, silicon oxynitride, and silicon carbonitride thin films by reactive magnetron sputtering. The films were characterized based on their che...
